My personal story makes me eligible to know the legitimacy of Donna’s position against corruption

Donna’s story and my story are horrifyingly similar, making Donna’s nightmare all that more real for me.  My late wife was married to two wife beaters before me, and the corruption of the government allowed the physical and emotional abuse to continue unabated.  The government, whether it is local or federal in Donna’s case, shows its ugly corruption with Donna and her children, and places the priority in the wrong place.  Donna should have never had to spend one day incarcerated, and I will leave no stoned unturned to fight for Donna until she is released.  I spent 9 years on active duty in the Air Force from 1968-77 and I witnessed federal corruption every day.  It is at all levels, and Donna was their pawn so they could get drug arrests, and ignore domestic violence.  But Donna was and is brave and filled with self preservation and she is a fighter.  And I will stand by her every moment until she gets her freedom. Wrongful Conviction & Corruption: Life in Prison (Donna Hockman Story)

Virtually all of us have the capacity to act and immorally if not illegally at one point or another in our lives. We’d like to believe that if we ever get caught or feel compelled to confess, we’ll be judged not simply by what we’ve done but by why we did it and who we are. We want our acts to be judged in the context of our motivation and personal history, and a concept of a character that compromises more than our worst offenses. People do commit bad acts for good reasons, which means that guilt and especially sentence ought to be determined by considering the actor as well as the act. (Courtesy of George Lardner, Jr. father/author of “The Stalking of Kristen”)  Ending a man’s life isn’t easy to live with.  Remorse and guilt eat away at your soul while you’re awake and in your sleep.  I ask God for forgiveness each day.  My case is not as “open and shut” as the prosecuting attorney would like you to believe.  This is about a mom who feared for her life and the life of others, and ultimately took the life of the man who pulled a knife on her and threatened to kill her son in her own home. I am not a murderer!  I don’t feel I should lose my life in a 10’x6’ cell because I saved the life of my son and my own. Being wrongfully convicted I feel the system is saying, “Ms. Hockman, you should have let Dustin Stanley kill you, then you and your son would not be apart, we could have punished him accordingly.”  The law says I have a right to protect myself and family members if I feel I am in a position to be maimed or killed.  I…

Inmate dies at fluvanna prison after opening poor medical care federal case

An inmate from Fluvanna Correctional Center for Women has died, marking the third inmate death at the correctional center in just two months. Inmate Margie Ryder died Monday at VCU Medical Center after suffering from terminal pulmonary arterial hypertension, a condition she regulated with medication. Prior to her death, Ryder had an open case pending in federal court, citing problems with healthcare and medicine management at Fluvanna as a reason for filing an emergency motion to the courts in the Spring “We were devastated to learn about the death of Margie Ryder,” said Shannon Ellis with the Legal Aid Justice Center. Ellis said that Ryder’s death followed a year of emergency hospitalizations due to mismanagement of her medication. Two other women from the correctional center also died within the last two months. “Just the fact that within the last couple of months you’ve had three deaths and all of them have been women younger than 40, is extremely concerning,” said Ellis. Ellis said that she and her team are committed to fighting for better treatment within the correctional center. “These are our fellow citizens and when you have numerous young women, dying at the custody of the state in a short period of time, I think everyone should be asking why that’s happening,” said Ellis. Virginia Department of Corrections tells CBS 6 that they cannot release the medical information of inmates but did provide some information surrounding the deaths of Ryder and Ashely Carr, who died at Fluvanna Correctional Center for Women on July 1. “Margie Ryder, offender #1936746, had been at VCU Health since 6/24 and died there the evening of 7/8. As is public knowledge following her lawsuit, she had a terminal illness. Ashley Carr, offender #1473101, died at Fluvanna Correctional Center for Women on July 1. The…

Marsha Garst Complaint and corruption

Corrupt is right not sure that it really covers everything though to nice of a word for her. Negligent abuse of power. Whatever she has to do to get a conviction and that’s it, no matter what, illegal search and seizure, tampering with evidence, tampering with witness’s, cohering witness’s, hiding evidence, manufacturing evidence, lying under oath, nothing for her and her goon squad to run out and with a military style raid break in a innocent person’s home in the middle of the night guns drawn with no search warrant and no more reason than some poor scared kids word to go on. They are preying on children to get there arrests, and no family around is safe either don’t think it can’t happen to you if given enough time it will most definitely happen to someone you love. Her and her goon squad should not only be removed from office but should be criminally charged with things that they do on a daily basis, you and I would. What would she call it “getting more criminals off the street”. But then again you and I can’t cover for a murderer let him move away get away Scott free but then in cases which are clearly self defense lie cheat and steal until we get a conviction, we can’t rig a electric and get away with it either. Not saying she would eat her own young but she has no problem devouring yours. I’m from there born and raised since I’ve lived all over the country never had a minutes problem anywhere except there I won’t even come back to visit family who I love and miss very much but I’m not risking my life to visit and in my opinion that’s terrorism! I Can verify all these posts

i would like to verify what was just posted above. no person prison or not should have to deal with these conditions. as far as food if you cant get money from your family its very hard for them to live on the food given to them on a daily basis. this place is run terribly. they never call you have when you make a complaint. the never call back when your windering where your mails is you sent when you know it should have been received. this whole place seems to be a a joke. nobody seems to care enought to do something. i really hope more people post here and we can get these conditions fixed because its absurd how this institution is run, inmate or not you should be able to get access to your mail in a timly manner, and be fed like a normal human being, i will be posting letters soon as soon as i fix my scanner. and who ever is running this site i commend you on the work yourve put into not only helping donna but the other inmates being treated the same way. keep up the good work, i have faith something will change eventually when these topics and website are sent to the people who can make these changes. thanks again -megan ( they cant ignore us forever!!!) Horrible conditions

well i dont know where to start, i know my daughter is dealing with horrible conditions. to start they are fed beans and rotten outdated food constantly while the guards eat like kings off of the fluvanna food. i know that they go thru wardens like crazy and that also applies to the guards, as well. being feed outdated food is absolutely absurd. When i call the to speak to someone in charge i have to leave a message and never get a call back. i also know they recently painted the cells not too long ago and made the inmates sleep in the cells that very same night. many of whom became sick because of the fumes. if i had a scanner id post the letters ive received. bottom line these inmates are being treated terribly, fed terribly and im praying something changes. im praying they get a warden who cares about the inmates and how they are living. i hope this website and this page especially gets enough supporters to get the governor or DOC itself involved. it’s just terrible and i pray each night that things get better but my prayers don’t seem to help. i hope more people post verifying what im posting here. something needs to be done because they dont deserve this sort of treatment. And thank you for allowing those of us a place to post the truth. Email

Abuses exposed at Fluvanna Correctional Center

The following information can be found at: http://www.c-ville.com/abuses_exposed_at_fluvanna_correctional_center/#.Vf8H_99Vikp it was written in 2010 and conditions have only gotten worse Helen Trainor reads about 50 letters a month from women at the Fluvanna Correctional Center for Women. “I actually read personal letters, unlike a lot of people, and take them seriously,” she says. As part of her job as director of the Virginia Institutionalized Persons Project (at the Legal Aid Justice Center), she has to know what goes on in jails across Virginia. Trainor says that conditions at Fluvanna “began to resemble the conditions at Virginia’s strictest prisons, as opposed to a Class 3 prison that it is.” The letters described discrimination and segregation, which prompted Trainor and other volunteers from Legal Aid to meet with Senator Frank Ruff, Jr. (15th District) in a church basement to discuss what could be done. Then, on Monday, December 28, the Associated Press reported that Barbara Wheeler, warden at Fluvanna, which is the state’s largest women’s prison, will be replaced by Wendy Hobbs. Larry Traylor, spokesperson for the Department of Corrections confirmed to C-VILLE that Wheeler is retiring, though Wheeler was unavailable for an interview. Cynthia Neff has also been working with Legal Aid where she has heard the stories first-hand. “We were hearing from a number of people that they were discriminated against because they looked butch, aggressive-looking women,” she says. In fact, the Associated Press reported in June that gay inmates were segregated, with lesbian inmates with short hair and baggy clothes kept apart in the “butch-wing.” Trainor says that things began to change about a year ago when Michael Frame became the new major, or head of security, at Fluvanna. The previous major was convicted for having sex with female inmates, says Trainor. Neff says Frame proceeded to “toughen the place…

Wrongful Conviction, Not Innocence

Corrupt Prosecutor, Public Attorney, Judge, & Local Media. Jailhouse inmates commit perjury for release. ( To coverup facts that led to death of Paid Confidential Informant) In 2009 Donna Hockman was wrongfully convicted in the death of her ex-boyfriend and received a life sentence in the state of Virginia. Altered,non-tested, and fabricated evidence as well as false testimony from Stanley’s family and inmates incarcerated with Donna were used to convict her. Soon after her sentencing, every inmate who testified against Donna was released from Rockingham County Jail with their charges dismissed or with simple probation. WRONGFUL CONVICTION NOT INNOCENCE Donna wanted to make all of you aware that she is not claiming to be innocent, but wrongfully convicted and wanted to educate her supporters of the differences.  Explanation of innocence versus wrongfully convicted involves not being present when the offense took place and DNA would be missing from the scene of the crime.  Example: A bank was robbed and you were out of state when the robbery took place and the camera footage along with none of your DNA being there proves your innocence. A wrongful conviction is classified as when (1) the person convicted is factually innocent of the charge, or (2) there were procedural errors that violated the convicted person’s rights. Most that are wrongfully convicted know they have been wronged and actively pursue exoneration. Most of those wrongfully convicted have typically had evidence withheld, fabricated, not tested and tainted against them along with the use of jail house snitches all perpetuated by the prosecutor, known as prosecution misconduct. These are clear violations of the Constitution and a deprivation of a defendant’s due process rights. Donna killed Dustin Stanley after dealing with months of physical and mental abuse. She filed restraining orders and trespassing charges against Dustin but…

Letter To Supporters From Donna

Dear friends and supporters, Your letters of encouragement are always welcome! If you wish to post a letter of support, simply register and make a comment on my posts, post on my Facebook, or simply email freedonnahockman@gmail.com and we will post it promptly. I need my friends and family to write on my site to show my true personality and I want honest truthful testimonials of who I am/was. The only thing to look forward to is email and U.S. mail. At mail call I love hearing my name. I don’t feel so alone and reading your letters are therapeutic. My website is not meant to inflame friends and family of Dustin Stanley. My only goal is to allow the public to see the lies that convicted me and let the world know who Donna Hockman really is. During my relationship with Dustin Stanley, before and during my trial I was silenced and I will remain silent no more! No matter what I have to do to prove the corruption surrounding my conviction I will continue to fight for my freedom. To those of you who read the stories of those arrested and convicted of crimes and say “they got what they deserved”, please know your only being told the version the prosecutor wants you to know. The prosecutor wants to sway public opinion so the jury pool will be tainted and ensure a conviction. Justice can only be served when the truth is told! I look forward to reading your letters and emails. Keep them coming! If you wish to write a personal letter to me, email me or refer to Contact Me on how to do so. Love, Donna
